Preliminary Data. In current use of the Online and Applied System for Intervention Skills for parents (OASIS-P), Drs. Heitzman-Powell and Buzhardt developed and continue to implement a training program designed to teach Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) intervention techniques for children with autism. This program uses web-based instruction and hands-on application of trained techniques in which parents or caregivers work with children with autism while receiving modeling and feedback from professionals. Results indicated that the caregivers found the training useful in their work, reporting that they considered the online instruction easy-to-access, and that the hands-on application was critical to their success in working with this population (Heitzman- Powell & Buzhardt, under review).
